The Ventura County High School Pickleball League is a student-led organization dedicated to creating structured, school-based competition — with the long-term goal of making pickleball a varsity sport and ultimately CIF regulated.
Pickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports in the country, yet most high schools lack a clear pathway to organize teams and compete meaningfully. Our mission is to bridge that gap.
We provide a consistent league framework that allows schools to compete responsibly, fairly, and with credibility.
The league is run by students who understand the needs of athletes and schools, fostering ownership, accountability, and long-term sustainability.
Many schools have students interested in pickleball, but no official structure. Without organization, consistency, and standards, the sport cannot grow at the high school level.
Teams represent their schools, building pride and continuity year over year.
League play establishes legitimacy — an essential step toward varsity recognition.
Participation, structure, and standards are the foundation for CIF regulation.
Becoming a varsity, CIF-regulated sport does not happen overnight. Our league is designed to support that journey step by step.
